12 Pack of Y.O.D.A. Questions 1) Vital Stats: a) Where do you live: Los Angeles b) Relationship Status: Married c) Education:B.A. Art History UC Santa Cruz d) Profession: musician (singer, songwriter)
2) How do you relate to the term Yeppie? How does your life fall in line with these ideals? (See: What is a Yeppie): My 3 yr old niece made up a term recently, and she says, ”Yeppie do!” all the time when she’s all fired up about doing something fun or just saying “yes.” So, I like it! Being an independent musician, I definitely am living a life less ordinary, which can be thrilling at times and terrifying at others. I love the idea of encouraging people our age to listen to their hearts and to do something meaningful.
I do think that when you are in line with your true life’s purpose, your dreams will come true. I’m banking on it! And, I have had some pretty amazing opportunities in the past year. I started singing backgrounds with Melissa Etheridge, and went to New York to sing at the huge Live Earth concert that Al Gore organized. Standing on the stage and looking out at 50 thousand people was definitely a dream coming true for me- AND it was for a good cause, AND I made some good money : ). 4) What is the thing that most makes you you, besides your striking good looks? What are your interests that set you apart? I try to be as present as I can, and I hope that comes through in everything I do. I’ve been told my music has a calming effect on others. It makes people happy, which is the most I can hope for. 5) What’s your strongest trait? Diplomacy. 6) What is the worst thing about you, besides your notions of grandeur and bad breath? I’m a control freak. I like to be in charge of every detail. 7) How are you making the world a better place or at least not leading to its imminent demise? Spreading a message of peace and positivity through my music; trying not to drive my car unless it’s totally necessary, using my steel water bottle and avoiding plastic; being conscious. 8) Top 5 songs that fit you. Seriously the cheesier the better? Hello, Huey Lewis and The News! “Magic” (Olivia Newton-John), “Morning” (Cat Stevens- is that the name of it??) “Dreamin” (Blondie) “Get Up, Stand Up” (Bob Marley), “How Sweet it Is” (original singer?) 9) What bothers you about the current state of the world on a large scale or small scale? It bothers me that our world leaders seem to be operating on a very low vibration- very egocentric and combative. It bothers me that it’s all this negativity that makes the news and permeates our culture on every level. 10) What, besides www.YeppieNation.com , gives you hope that humanity is not going to self destruct? Solar power, Biodiesel, creativity, art, music, laughter, Jane Goodall, the Dalai Lama, Oprah… 11) Anything about you that we have not asked but is utterly amazing and interesting? Or some twisted final words or deep dark secrets to share? People seem to love the fact that I went on a few dates with “Weird Al” Yankovic (who is an amazingly cool person) when I first moved to L.A. Once we hiked up to the Hollywood sign at night (which is totally against the law), and watched fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl. We had to hide in the bushes every time a security car drove by. 12) Describe your daily routine. Is this what makes you a Yeppie or are you just passing the time until the next big life adventure? I practice yoga in the morning, then
sit down to write music for a bit. I
spend a lot of time on my computer- booking gigs, I’m content with my life now, but I definitely have my eye on the horizon. I know I have a LOT of adventures ahead, and I still need to get that call from MTV Cribs…

How are
you succeeding at living a Yeppie life that is fulfilling to your spirit and
soul yet will allow you to be featured on the next MTV Cribs?
promoting gigs, submitting
songs… Some days I’ll have a recording
session for someone else’s project. Some days I’ll get to go on a hike in Griffith Park.
Some days I’ll work at a local home design retail space. A lot of nights I have a show in town… If we’re home, I’ll cook a healthy dinner for
my hubby and myself, and most nights we’ll get back in the studio after dinner
to work on my music. If we’re on the
road it’s different- travel, travel, travel, sound check, gig, new hotel,
travel…
